Tapestry weaving is a visual art
form that requires only a simple frame loom, a palette of yarn and your
imagination. In this class, you will learn the basic techniques of creating
a weft-faced weaving, and sample various design motifs - and you will know
what that means! You will be inspired by the intricately design rugs of the
Navajo, the richly narrative tapestries of medieval Europe, and work of
modern tapestry artists. There is a $40 materials fee payable to the
instructor, which includes the purchase of a sturdy frame loom and weaving
tools (yours to keep) and yarn for our first class project. Bring your own
scissors. Fee $95 |
