Aerobic and anaerobic conditioning.  Work at your target heart rate while walking and/or running.  Some workouts also include lightweight training to help improve appearance and burn more body fat.  Each session includes slow stretching and abdominal exercises.  During inclement weather class is held indoors.  Bring a mat or towel.  NO DISCOUNTS

We welcome all ages and levels of fitness and hope to instill a commitment to fitness by making exercise both rewarding and enjoyable.  Develop flexibility, balance and strength through a series of total body stretches and strength training exercises using dumbbells and two universal gym machines.  Exercise your sense of humor while you work out at a relaxed pace and in a friendly environment.

Seido Karate is a traditional Zen based Japanese martial art.  It embodies the principal of purposeful practice by combining the physical practice of the martial arts with the traditional respect for mental focus through meditation.  The physical training in Seido Karate emphasizes progressive development of strength, flexibility and aerobic capacity.  The development of a strong body and a focused mind contributes to health, self confidence and a general sense of well-being.  Wear loose clothing and bring a bench or pillow for meditation.  A karate uniform is available from the instructors but is not required.  No prior experience necessary.  Open to all ages 15 years old and above.  Any questions contact Kyoshi Paula at 917-885-3529.

This program fuses Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create an exciting one hour calorie-burning, body-energizing workout.  The routine will feature interval training with weights to tone and sculpt your body while also utilizing fast and slow rhythms to maintain and work out in “your fat burning zone.”  The class will conclude with an AB and Back segment followed by gentle guided stretches.  Bring water, 2-3 pound weights, mat, stretch or Dyna band (may be purchased from instructor).  For more information, visit www.Balanced4Fitness.com.

Pilates is an exercise series of body movements that stretch and strengthen muscles.  Joseph Pilates developed this exercise method over 90 years ago by blending yoga and martial arts.  The yoga lends its breath and stretching of the muscles, the martial arts lends its concentration, focus and flowing precision moves.  You will be introduced to the first 7 – 9 basic MAT exercises, and learn some beneficial stretches.  The goal of Pilates at any level is to create a natural flow of movement from one exercise to another without sacrificing control.  Pilates requires patience and practice to reap the rewards of restoring postural alignment. This co-ed class is designed for those participants who have Arthritis, are unable to stand for long periods of time, are out of shape, are getting back into Fitness or are starting a new fitness program.  A 45-minute class that uses seated and standing exercises to help strengthen muscles to reduce age related muscle loss, increase flexibility and regain range of motion, and increase balance to reduce the risk of a fall.  All exercises are physical therapy modified movements that can be done at home after learning proper set up and techniques.  Light weights, bands and squishy balls are used to challenge each participant to their fitness level.  A starter “fitness travel pack” can be purchased from instructor for $18.  For further information call 508 240-2739 or visit www.Balanced4fitness.com

The spinning program offers an energetic cycling inspired group exercise training program with expert Star level 3 coaching using exhilarating music at a self directed pace.  All participants in this private studio setting will learn to maximize their target heart rates for optimum results in burning fat.  Spinning is gentle rotation of the joints without the pounding and stress that running and jogging deliver.  This class is broken into two segments.  The first segment offers a warm-up bike ride and cool-down consisting of 45 minutes.
